The Museum Insider studio program
on the Tolland Historical Society and Hicks-Stearns
Family Museum. Three generations of the Hicks family lived in this
house. It was built as an inn during the 1700s and altered
during the Victorian Period to meet changing styles and family
needs. The museum is filled with Hicks family items including
childrens games and toys, and kitchen, parlor and bedroom furnishings. |

The Museum Insider studio program
focuses on a field school in architectural research and building
archaeology. Preservation and restoration specialists from
New England and other regions served as consultants at the
Huntington House. The field segment shows paint analysis, architectural
drawing, mapping and photography, and archaeological excavation
techniques inside the structure. |
